The earliest mention of Goldstone was Vincenzo Miotti of Venice who was commissioned to create this sparkling opaque glass. Almost from its creation, it has been linked to the art of alchemy. Today's Goldstone is made with copper flacks or metallic compounds like cobalt, manganese, or chromium oxide.
